Igor Kozlovsky and Marina Sharapova received their MFA at Mukhina Academy of Art and Design in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1985. A husband-and- wife duo, they collaborate on their paintings as a team. Their figurative work is inspired by the Renaissance era and by Russian religious art, while their backgrounds reflect an avant- garde Expressionist style. About their work they say: “We try to create an atmosphere of the enigma and the untold story behind every painting to stimulate the viewer to use his/ her imagination and be involved in the creative process.”
Igor & Marina have had exhibitions at the the American Academy of Arts in Chicago and Northeastern Illinois University. Their paintings can be found in many national and international collections. They live and work in Chicago.
