Group Exhibition October 12 - November 4, 2023 Nature, and more specifically animal life, was the first subject represented in the visual arts, as early as 45,500 years ago, archaeologists believe. With depictions ranging from literal to abstract, the natural world mesmerizes by its complex existence: a balancing act of frailty and resilience, frequently acting as metaphor for the human experience. Landscapes and seascapes showcase nature’s beauty while offering a sense of place. Plants and produce can be elevated within the artificial stage of a still life to offer focused study in a humanized context. Having journeyed from the quiet nights of Poland to the dynamic energy of Manhattan, Pacula's art transcends representation, offering vivid interpretations of the city's vitality. Immerse yourself in skyscraper symphonies and urban vistas that pulse with harmonious interplays of light, color, and geometry. Explore the metropolis from a unique perspective, capturing both distant ambiance and intimate personal spaces. Alexandra Pacula's artistic journey began with a BFA from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, followed by an MFA from Montclair University in 2006. Her artistic evolution took root in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Her current studio, nestled in the Poconos Mountains, PA, serves as the exclusive sanctuary for her artistic endeavors. Admission is free, and the exhibition runs from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:30 am - 6:00 pm at 555 West 25th St., Gallery Henoch.
