Anita Mazzucca (b. 1945, New Jersey) completed her BFA in 1967 at the Pratt Institute in New York. She creates detailed landscape paintings sourced from the parks and farmland of her home region in New Jersey. Her lush trees and shrubbery are balanced alongside manicured lawns and country roads. For Mazzucca, “I am representing my version of nature. But nature can be responded to in different ways by different people. In many of my paintings I include a road or a path. I suppose I put them there to provide the viewer with a conveyance that can lead them to their own personal journey.”
Her exhibition history includes solo and group shows in New York, New Jersey, and Venezuela, and her work is found in a number of public and private collections.
